Hair, Mud and Drool "A Clumber"
Hopefully before you decide on a Clumber Spaniel you will have researched the breed thoroughly, not just from books and surfing the internet but also by going to the breed's parent club website The Clumber Spaniel Club of America (CSCA) at http://clumbers.org/ There is a wealth of information on this site as well as a Breeder Referal list. It is imperative that you have the knowledge and tools at your disposal to choose a reputable breeder. There are Clumber chat groups on yahoo, join some of the lists and meet the people who live with these magnificent dogs!!! We strongly suggest that you go to a dog show find someone through the CSCA who can tell you where to meet Clumbers and spend some time with them. Clumber Spaniels are not a breed for everyone, they can drool, shake their heads and propel the drool into the air, they shed constantly and seem to have the most fun in mud. They are Clumbers and those that love them would'nt have it any other way.
Here is a list of books we suggest to further your knowledge of the breed:
"The Aristocrat of Spaniels" by W.J. Ironside & I.M. Charlesworth
"Clumber Spaniels" by Jan E. Irving
"Clumber Spaniel" by Ricky Blackman
"The Clumber Spaniel" by Peggy Grayson & Rae Furness
"The White Spaniel" by Jan E. Irving
